For this week's lecture, we are supposed to critique the use of typography in the image above. 

Questions posed:
  • What seems to be off about this particular typographic representation?
The typeface is inappropriate for the subtext because it is difficult to read with all the words in caps. It is overly striking. Discord is also created when the same typeface is used for both headline and subtext because there the presentation might confuse readers in the hierarchy of text. This kind of decorative or novelty typeface should be primarily be designed for only one-word text or the heading.


● How would you improve this typographic representation (look into the 8 rules for
guiding points for discussion)

It is important to find complementary typefaces so I will most likely use American Typewriter typeface for the subtext as it is not too decorative but still effective in commanding users' attention. American Typewriter emphasizes the qualities of the header's typeface which are strong and square finishing strokes which should be highlighted in the sub-text.
